[Reply takes a few minutes because Dick is technically at work. But he can take a minute, turn the bar over to one of the other bartenders, and take a few minutes of break.]

Tim's and TJ's birthday is the 19th. The older Jason was giving you ideas for gifts in the most cryptic way possible. It should be noted that it's a good list, though.

( birthdays. hm. he hadn't thought of that here — hadn't thought he'd be asked to be involved since, well. he's not their bruce. )

Birthday presents?

I mean, it would be nice. Especially for Tim. I'm pretty sure the Drakes are bad at actually remembering his birthday. But even a card would be appreciated.

I'll drop it off at your place then.

I think Jason's (the younger) is planning a party at Descendant. You'd be welcome, of course. The plan is to close for the night so it's only family and friends in the know.

( a party. now there's something bruce hasn't done for... some time. )

I don't know if that's a good idea.

Nobody's going to force you to stay. You could just stop in, say hi and happy birthday in person, hand over the cards and go. I know it's a lot of social activity.

[Especially for somebody who obviously hasn't been doing much of it. Bruce was still working on Brucie a bit when Dick first came into his life, but he knows social anxiety when he sees it.]

But. If you're more comfortable with just sending the gifts with me or dropping them off before the party, that's understandable, too.

Certain people just seem to have a difficult time around me.

( referring to the jasons, obviously. he'd hate to make an appearance and have one of them start something at a birthday party for the two tims. )

Neither of them is asshole enough to ruin the birthday party by going after you.

[This MIGHT be giving the older Jason more credit than he's earned, but he's at least TRYING back home.]

[He's one of the more trying people Dick's ever met.]

Like I said. You don't have to stay long. But I know it would mean a lot to both of them if you just showed up for a few minutes.

( both of the jasons have given him more whiplash in the short time he's been here than he's had to deal with over the past two years with being batman. )
