July 19th. Crap. I forgot that was coming up that quickly.
Honestly, we're doing well enough that we could close Descendant for a 'private function' for a night. Put up a sheet over the bar so that we can use a cheap projector with somebody's laptop and have a movie night. Sandwich platter and ice cream?
Well, it's probably not their favorite. The ice cream, sure, but maybe not the sandwiches.
They're both still teens--crap. TJ's turning 20, isn't he? Okay, not quite teens. But they both still like pizza. Either get a big one for them to share or one each for them. Might go with the latter because I'm not sure I want to make either of them share more than they have to. And, frankly, nobody else is going to eat Canadian bacon and artichoke hearts.
Or maybe a taco bar? Not sure what's easier. TJ, I know, likes milkshakes, but those might be a bit labor intensive for a larger party.
Honestly, I don't know that I've ever seen a massive party for him. Pretty sure the Drakes missed his birthday more often than not. Brought him some gift from their travels that probably should have been in a museum or left to the people they took it from rather than given to a pre-teen/teen. The only time I know of them celebrating his birthday was after his mom died and Jack found out about everything, so he stayed in Gotham.
Mostly we have a small family thing. Like a movie night or something similar. I try to take him out to do something that isn't training. I know that he does something with his Titans. So a small party that's family and friends for them both should be good.
With everything going on, they probably don't. I'm positive Tim doesn't, at least. TJ is liable to forget his own birthday. He's done it before.
So we get something set up. Invite the family. Invite your kids and Sleeper. Invite Kon and Bart and...David? I think he's Bart's boyfriend. Not sure how much of a friend of Tim's he is, but they know each other. Which makes him fair enough game for an invite.
I mean, think about it. When it's never been important to the people who are supposed to actually remember it every year, wouldn't you have trouble remembering it sometimes, too?
He's at that age where it's sometimes easier for him to buy what he wants than trying to guess. I might just go for a straight up big box shop so he can get some stuff that he probably needs in general. Clothes and the like. Maybe some stupid band shirt to go with it. He had a phase.
Text, Dick's phone
TJ and Tim's birthday is apparently coming up and someone wants to stick party planning on me

Do they do birthday cakes? Ice cream cakes?

Honestly, I'd go for an ice cream cake. Probably the second best thing after milkshakes for them. And you can get coffee flavors.

How do these things usually go? I didn't celebrate with him last year because no one told me when his birthday was

Other Jay had to tell me about their birthday, not TJ or Tim. Maybe they don't expect anything for that day

I wouldn't be surprised. I think I got an idea of what to give the younger one. Don't know yet about the older one

Either that or tech. Or a gift card to get tech. He seems to be moving to take Babs' job here.

If there's anyone who can succeed in that job, it'd definitely be him
Maybe I'll do two gift cards for him

I still get a shirt for every Black Canary concert I've been to, though.
