Oh, don't get me wrong. Kal isn't perfect. He has the same problem that a lot of older heroes have in my world, in thinking that he knows what's right for the younger heroes. He gets a bit tunnel vision when there's something he can do but won't explore other options because he can just bulldoze his way through. And the whole thing with Kon was...
Finding out you have a clone is difficult. I get that. And it's not wrong that it took Kal a while to get used to the idea of the kid being around. But he also kind of ignored Kon when he really needed somebody to show him the ropes properly. Yes, he took Kon in eventually. Even gave him a proper name (since the people who cloned him LITERALLY only ever called him Superboy). But it took so long for him to decide to help Kon at all.
There's six people here who know what to do, if it were ever to come to that. Might be a little difficult, being as this is an entirely different world, but we'd find a way.
[No, Bruce, he's not going to tell you how to take down Superman unless it becomes relevant. Do your own research in your own world.]
Next time your friend The Flash seeks me out and warns me about Superman, tell him to let me know how to stop him since none of you seem to want to tell me.
I did see. Sorry, between everything that went down with Babs and the new building, I've been a bit rushed off my feet.
Glad you liked the cake. I'll admit, it was a bit of a coin toss if 'favorite cake flavor' is a universal constant, but I'm glad it wasn't your least favorite, at least.
[Dads have lives, yes. Just they should not have lives like that when the rooms share a wall.]
Thank you. It's always good to have extra places, in case things go wrong. And you should know that the reverse applies, too. If you need anything, there's a place for you here, too.

I don't know, the 'bonjour' kind of breaks that whole alliterative h-streak. Then again, we could always follow it up with a buongiorno, but like specifically how Brad Pitt says it in Inglourious Basterds?
Or, you know, not. (OMG, do Brad Pitt movies even exist here? Never mind. Off-track.)
Hi, Dick. How's...how are things, she asks casually, as though she hasn't been eep-ing and changing direction every time she comes across you at Descendant.
I'm wrapping my head around the idea that there might be worlds out there without a me. The idea of worlds where the Titanic didn't happen is a lot more appealing. Less existentially-crisis-y.
I'm sorry about that? Like, it had nothing to do with you and everything to do with like the adrenaline of excitement wearing off and reality setting in. Or alternate reality setting in. Do you know how weird it is to go shopping for tennis rackets and not have, like, anyone recognize you? So bizarre.
I'm glad to hear that. I wasn't sure how weird it was gonna be? Or if it was gonna be weird at all. I don't know if this is a shared history thing between you and me, or a...who even are you sort of situation. Kinda glad it's not the latter.
It's weird, the 'nobody recognizing you'. It felt like everybody always knew who I was in Gotham growing up, then I've recently kinda gone out of my way to be known in BlΓΌdhaven. So being able to walk around a city without at least somebody asking me about family or wanting to shake my hand or give me an earful about...whatever's on their mind? It's kinda nice. Still weird, but nice.
No, I get that. I never blamed you for it. I know I wasn't always a great guy to you back home, either, so I got needing to get your own feet under you before dealing with all the people from home, too. I am, of course, terrible at staying back and not involving myself with other people when I should give myself some grace, but I'm forever trying to land on my feet.
